PANAMA
The Republic of Panama is recognized as one of the commercial centers of the region. The Panama Canal, with more than 13,000 transits a year; the Colon Free Zone with annual transactions in excess of $15 billion; one of the most integrated and efficient multi-modal transportation systems in the Americas; and a healthy service economy, has made Panama a destination for second homes, retirement communities, and tourism.  Panama offers opportunities to U.S. businesses that are looking to Panama and its impressive economic growth as potential investment.

US SOUTHEAST REGION
The Southeast of the United States, and especially Georgia and the City of Atlanta, have a long tradition of friendship and cooperation with Panama.  Prestigious companies such as Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, UPS, Federal Express and the Ports of Savannah, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Charleston, Mobile and Biloxi, among others, have been instrumental in the trade relationship between Panama and the United States.  In addition Georgia and Florida  are popular states for Panamanian students in the U.S.
